Chris Verrill was the founding producer and co-host of China Drive on China Radio International’s Easy FM. Nationally broadcast from 5 pm to 7 pm, Monday to Friday, to millions of homes, this features magazine program continues to entertain English speaking audiences in Beijing, Shanghai, and throughout China. Prior China Drive, Verrill hosted the afternoon music program Easy Café. His time spent with the official Chinese radio network gives Verrill an insight and expertise in how official Chinese media works that few non-Chinese can claim.

Pacifica Community Television

Although now located in Beijing, China, for two years Chris Verrill was the host of Education Spotlight on PCT near San Francisco. He interviewed guests on camera, edited questions, and prepared guests. In his capacity as vice president of the board of directors, he updated and improved station program schedule.



KRCB-TV

Verrill served as on-air television membership campaign host in Santa Rosa, California.



KIXE-TV

For eight years Verrill was the development director and principle on-air spokesperson in all televised membership campaigns and on-air auctions for KIXE-TV, Channel 9, the PBS station in Northern California. Verrill produced televised pledge drives, auctions and special events and gave lectures in the community on television and non-profit NGO related issues. He conceived and produced annual estate planning show Why A Will Is Not Enough and served as co-executive producer four part television series Sex and Sensibility. Verrill coordinated education coalition comprised of ten different organizations. Storyboard each episode and secured funding for and financially managed series.

For eight years Chris Verrill acted as occasional on-air radio membership campaign host.



KVPT-TV

Served as on-camera television membership campaign host and on-air auctioneer.



California Valley Public Television

Helped spearhead the creation of a three public television station collaborative designed to increase inter-station training, program production, and other cooperative efforts. KIXE, KVIE and KVPT represent 100 staff and tens of thousands of viewing households. Along with his counterpart at the Fresno station, Verrill co-directed the annual multi-station retreats.



Q97 FM

Worked as an evening and weekend disc jockey for Q97 FM the country music commercial radio group. Announced music, read public service announcements, recorded and rebroadcast traffic reports. Responsible for running two stations simultaneously. Produced and read news headlines.

  
WBJC-FM

Act as on-air talent during membership campaigns for Baltimore radio station 91.5 Fm WBJC. Substitute as disc jockey and announcer for classical music and morning drive news shifts. Launch daily listener contest and arts community promotions. Associate producer for Candlelight Concert series. Exercised overall responsibility for the public radio station’s budget and finances. Assisted with various fundraising, marketing, advertising, outreach, and public relations efforts. Coordinated the hiring of personnel and negotiated contractual agreements.

  WNAV-AM

Worked as a weekend disc jockey for this soft rock commercial radio station. Responsible for broadcasting Baltimore Orioles baseball games. Announced traffic, news headlines and weather reports.



KPFA-FM

On air reader for live radio theatre.



KDVS-FM

One of the founding directors of the radio theatre group. Directed and performed in a dozen live and pre-recorded radio plays. Produced and directed numerous broadcasts. Assembled cast, directed production and oversaw post-production. The organization still broadcasts today. Also launched Comedy Comedy Comedy radio program. Performed numerous disc jockey shifts. Verrill recently appeared as a guest on the book show on KDVS.
