Wild Ties
Wild Ties is the oldest internet tie store the world. Chris Verrill started this internet business in 1995 and five years later successfully sold the company at a profit. Verrill designed and wrote the website, press releases, and all marketing materials.

Sentius
After profitably selling Wild Ties, Chris Verrill spent two years as the Marketing and Communications Director of the Silicon Valley software innovator Sentius
Corporation. At Sentius, Verrill was responsible for all marketing and communications philosophy and practices and served as primary contact for external media inquiries.
In addition to managing the international public relations efforts, he directed the development and production of all creative marketing materials: print ad campaigns, direct marketing pieces, as well as collateral materials such as sales kits, public
relations driven articles, newsletters, powerpoint
presentations, press
releases, and speaking engagements.

Is For Good Men To Do Nothing
Traveling to five continents and 33 countries, Chris Verrill’s international travel biography is 427 pages of, according to one critic, “insightful and witty” prose proving that, in addition to press releases, stories, photo
essays, and short form marketing pieces, Verrill also writes compelling non-fiction for the average reader. "Brilliant," said another critic. "This book is a must read."
Is For Good Men To Do Nothing is a book that celebrates the gift of Rotary while chronicling Verrill’s recent international experiences on behalf of the Rotary
Club of Pacifica.

Newspaper Articles
Verrill’s writing and public relations efforts have resulted in guest opinions and articles in USA
Today, San Francisco Chronicle, Palo Alto Weekly, Davis
Enterprise, Pacifica Tribune, Redding Record Searchlight, In
The Fray, San Mateo County Times, Information Today, and numerous other USA and international publications. One of many radio interviews is available online at radio station KDVS in California. |
Stage Play Adaptation
Chris Verrill adapted Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol for Beijing Playhouse. His adaption was performed in China in December 2006. The adaptation, done in conjunction with Fells Point Corner Theatre in Baltimore, improved character development by eliminating that pesky narrator. It also created a flexibility that allowed for the increase the musical elements. |

Children’s Education
Verrill is particularly proud of establishing the Sesame
Street Preschool Education Program throughout California’s ten northernmost counties.
In the relatively low-income rural communities of Northern California, rife with single parent families and households where both parents must work, adequate childcare is a critical issue. Underpaid and poorly trained daycare providers compound the problem—resulting in children receiving inadequate care and supervision. Chris Verrill felt he had to act, because if this problem was not addressed, it would affect his community for generations to come. One key solution is teaching early childhood development skills to daycare providers.
In establishing the preschool education initiative, he directed the program, secured funding, hired and supervised the trainers, and as a teacher lectured on the value of early childhood education. Most importantly, Verrill established a program that is self-sustaining and continues to serve the community today.
Since he established the preschool education program in 1993 it has trained daycare providers who have in turn used these skills to teach over 25,000 children. Future generations of children have a better start in life because of these efforts. |

Beijing Playhouse
In 2006 Chris Verrill established China’s English language community theatre—Beijing Playhouse. 100 cast and crew, from a dozen different countries, made Beijing Playhouse’s very first production a solid success. The community theatre, which thrives on heart and talent of people through the Beijing community, is busily preparing productions of The Sound of Music, A Christmas Carol, The Odd Couple and many more.
